Provide specialized instruction 35-37.5 hours per week to approximately 48-56 students across multiple grade levels in virtual classroom environments. You'll serve as both direct instructor and consultant, supporting students with diverse hearing losses and communication needs. Our DHH teachers work within collaborative teams to ensure students receive appropriate accommodations and achieve academic success. Educational Service Delivery Deliver individualized and small group instruction using DHH-specific methodologies Adapt general education curriculum for visual learners and diverse communication styles Provide language intervention services focusing on vocabulary development and concept formation Conduct educational assessments and develop data-driven instructional goals Support inclusion efforts through collaboration with general education teachers Implement assistive technology solutions for communication and learning access Document student progress and maintain detailed IEP compliance records Specialized Teaching Areas Language arts instruction emphasizing visual-spatial processing Mathematical reasoning using concrete and visual teaching strategies Science education with hands-on virtual laboratory experiences Social studies content delivered through multimedia and interactive approaches Life skills instruction for independence and self-advocacy development Communication skill building across multiple modalities Academic support for standardized testing and assessment accommodations Required Credentials Master's degree in Deaf Education or Special Education with DHH emphasis Current New Mexico teaching license in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education Minimum 2 years of direct teaching experience with DHH students in educational settings Proficiency in American Sign Language and understanding of Deaf community culture Experience delivering services in virtual or distance learning formats Strong technological skills for remote education delivery Additional Desired Qualifications Certification in multiple communication approaches (oral, total communication, bilingual-bicultural) Experience working with students who have cochlear implants or hearing aids Background in family support and parent education services Knowledge of post-secondary transition and vocational preparation Training in social-emotional learning and mental health support Technical Infrastructure Requirements High-quality webcam with clear resolution for sign language communication Professional lighting setup to optimize visual clarity during instruction Dedicated workspace with appropriate background and minimal distractions High-speed internet connection with reliable upload and download capabilities Updated computer equipment with current educational software and accessibility tools If interested, apply here or contact: Daniela Jimenez 470-516-6256 Remote working/work at home options are available for this role.
