We're seeking a dedicated Deaf and Hard of Hearing teacher to join our remote education team, specializing in secondary-level instruction for students with hearing impairments. Work 35-37.5 hours weekly supporting approximately 40-50 students in grades 6-12 through virtual learning platforms. You'll focus on academic content delivery, transition planning, and developing communication competencies essential for teenage students with hearing loss. Our educators play a vital role in ensuring students receive appropriate accommodations while maintaining high academic standards. Core Teaching Duties Design and deliver curriculum adapted for visual learners and various communication preferences Implement transition services focusing on post-secondary preparation and career readiness Provide specialized instruction in core academic subjects with DHH methodology Conduct functional assessments and develop appropriate behavioral interventions Facilitate IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams Support students in developing self-determination and advocacy skills Create and maintain accessible digital learning environments Specialized Service Areas Content area literacy with emphasis on academic vocabulary Mathematics instruction using visual-conceptual approaches Science and social studies with hands-on virtual experiments Career exploration and job readiness skills Independent living skills and community navigation Technology proficiency for communication and learning Post-secondary transition planning and college preparation Essential Requirements Master's degree in Deaf Education or related special education field Current Ohio teaching license in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education Minimum 2 years of classroom experience with DHH students in school environments Demonstrated competency in multiple communication modalities Experience with adolescent development and secondary education practices Proficiency with assistive technology and communication devices Desired Qualifications Secondary education endorsement or dual certification Experience with transition services and post-secondary planning Knowledge of vocational rehabilitation and community resources Training in mental health support for adolescents with hearing loss Familiarity with college accessibility services and accommodations Remote Work Setup Professional-grade video equipment for clear visual communication Consistent lighting arrangement for optimal student visibility Dedicated teaching space with minimal background distractions High-speed internet with backup connectivity options Updated computer system with accessibility features and educational software If interested, apply here or contact: Daniela Jimenez 470-516-6256 Cincinnati, OH 45202
