A special education teaching position is available for the upcoming school year in a K-12 setting located in Laurel, MD. This contract role involves working onsite to provide dedicated support within a self-contained classroom designed for 12 to 17 students. The focus is on delivering individualized educational plans and fostering an inclusive environment to meet the diverse needs of each student.

Key Responsibilities: Implement specialized curricula and instructional strategies for students with varying abilities. Develop and modify Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with parents, specialists, and administrators. Monitor student progress and adjust lessons to promote academic growth and social development. Maintain classroom management and ensure a safe, supportive learning atmosphere. Communicate regularly with families and multidisciplinary teams regarding student achievements and challenges. Desired Qualifications: Valid teaching license with certification in Special Education. Experience working with K-12 students in a self-contained classroom setting. Strong knowledge of special education laws, assessment techniques, and behavioral interventions. Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills. Commitment to student-centered instruction and ongoing professional development.
