Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High School diploma/GED; 2 years of college preferred Typing 45-60 wpm with a reasonable degree of proficiency Working knowledge of basic office procedures and the operation of common office equipment Ability to get along with people in general and children in particular Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration might find Special Knowledge/Skills:
Experience:
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Maintains positive working relationships with the principal, teachers, pupils, and other school personnel. Promotes an atmosphere of friendliness and desire to serve in the performance of office duties. Maintains good public relations at all times including usual receptionist functions. Maintains confidentiality at all times. Maintains courteous and efficient telephone techniques in utilizing the school phone. Exercises good judgment in answering inquiries and requests so as not to make administrative decisions or perform administrative functions. Processes routine school mail. Maintains an effective filing system for school records. Assumes responsibility for keeping the books for the Student Activity Fund, campus budget and accounting for and depositing monies collected at school. Renders typing services as required by the principal including correspondence records, requisitions and various reports, and assists in routine duplication of materials. Supervises the activities of the VOE Student Aide and student office aides. Helps sick and/or injured pupils including first aid and notification of parents. Manages, as prescribed by the principal, the distribution of supplies. Performs such other duties as the superintendent may require. Supervisory Responsibilities:

Customer Care Skills:
Provide professional communication with students, parents, community members, staff and other professionals at all times. Use proper phone etiquette at all times, speaking slowly and clearly. Take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff. Ensure superior customer care skills are used via eye contact, facial expressions, voice inflections, body language, and an attitude of "going the extra mile" for others. Ensure all requests for information are dealt with in an appropriate timeframe. Create and maintain a welcoming, service-oriented environment toward all internal and external customers.
Mental Demands/Physical Demands:
Tools/Equipment Used : Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
Posture:
Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion:
Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
Lifting:
Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Environment:
May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent districtwide travel; occasional statewide travel and out-of-state travel
Mental Demands:
Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress
Salary: Pay Grade AS03, $17.48 - $20.80 hourly rate, commensurate with experience according to District salary schedule. Days: 207 Start Date: 2025-09-22 00:00:00.000
