Overview
The Radiologic Technologist will comply with department protocols, UCDH Policies and Procedures, Department of Radiology Policies and Procedures, and other applicable work rules. The technologist must act with initiative and responsibility to achieve maximum imaging quality and interact with radiologists, clinicians, and peers in a cooperative manner. The incumbent must be able to perform all job functions deemed by the Department of Radiology. Under general supervision, this position provides technical knowledge and coordinates and monitors the delivery of radiological services for adult and pediatric outpatients. The incumbent operates various types of x-ray equipment, Dexa equipment, and auxiliary equipment to provide diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation. Quality of work is reviewed by the quality control technologist, chief technologist, or radiologist. This position may perform duties in the Main Hospital, Ambulatory Care Center, Same Day Surgery Center, and/or satellite facilities throughout UCDs Primary Clinic Network as deemed necessary by management. Operate imaging equipment to produce diagnostic quality images for adult and pediatric patients. Adhere to department and facility policies and participate in quality assurance activities. Collaborate with radiologists, clinicians, and peers to ensure effective patient care and imaging workflows. Maintain competency with current imaging modalities and equipment upgrades. Document and manage imaging procedures and data in accordance with PACS and departmental standards. Minimum Qualifications
Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) CA Fluoroscopic permit (within 6 months of hire date) American Heart Association (AHA) CPR Certification Knowledge to operate imaging equipment and adapt to new programs and equipment upgrades Knowledge of diagnosing and treating human injuries, diseases, and deformities and related preventive health measures Knowledge of physical principles relevant to imaging and equipment operation Proficiency with PACS archiving, retrieval, and exception handling Ability to administer CPR Good judgment in following rules, protocols, policies, and procedures Preferred Qualifications
