Overview

Radiology Technologist Per Diem at UC Davis Clinical and Translational Science Center. Under general supervision, this position provides technical knowledge and coordinates and monitors the delivery of radiological services for adult and pediatric outpatients. The incumbent operates various x-ray equipment, Dexa equipment and related auxiliary equipment to provide diagnostic images for interpretation by a radiologist. Work quality is approved or reviewed by the quality control technologist, chief technologist or radiologist. The technologist adheres to department protocols, UC Davis Health policies and Department of Radiology Policies and Procedures, and other applicable rules and regulations. The technologist must act with initiative to achieve maximum imaging quality and perform duties calmly in stressful situations while interacting with radiologists, clinicians and peers in a cooperative manner. The incumbent must be able to perform all job functions deemed by the Department of Radiology. Minimum Qualifications

Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) CA Fluoroscopy Permit (must be obtained within 6 months of start date) American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) or UC Davis Health CPR No minimum education requirement No minimum work experience requirement Knowledge and ability to operate imaging equipment to provide quality images and adapt to new programs and equipment upgrades Knowledge of information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases and deformities including symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health-care measures Knowledge of physical principles and applications to imaging Competent in archiving, retrieving and exception handling with the PACS system Ability to administer CPR Good judgment and ability to follow rules, protocols, policies and procedures Critical thinking and problem solving skills Ability to function calmly under multiple directions and fluctuating workload

Preferred Qualifications

ARRT certification preferred

Department Overview

The Department of Radiology is a 24 hour, seven day a week operation providing imaging services to adult and pediatric inpatients and outpatients. Department Specific Job Scope

This position may perform duties at the Main Hospital, Ambulatory Care Center, Same Day Surgery Center and/or satellite facilities throughout UC Davis Primary Clinic Network as deemed necessary by management. Position Information

Work Environment

UC Davis is a smoke and tobacco free campus. Must be able to work variable hours, rotate evening, weekend, and holiday coverage as needed. Must adhere to all policies and maintain clean work area. Must maintain current medical monitoring and preventive medical programs including TB testing, immunizations and CPR as required. Excellent attendance and punctuality required. Special Requirements
