A full-time Social Worker with a Professional Educator License (PEL) is needed to support an elementary school serving grades K-5 in Elgin, IL. This onsite, contract position runs from August 14, 2025, through May 28, 2026, and is focused on providing critical social-emotional support to students facing behavioral and emotional challenges.

While professional experience and qualifications are key for this role, make sure to check you have the preferable soft skills before applying if required. Responsibilities include working closely with three self-contained Special Education Services (SES) classrooms serving approximately 16 students with emotional and behavioral needs. You will collaborate with school staff and a fellow full-time social worker to implement interventions, develop individualized plans, and provide counseling tailored to the unique needs of the students. Key qualifications and experience desired: Hold a valid Social Worker PEL Background supporting students with emotional and behavioral challenges in a school setting Ability to collaborate with educators, families, and administrators effectively Strong communication and organizational skills Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment Position details include a full-time schedule from 8:45 a.m. to 4:05 p.m., Monday through Friday (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch). Although staff begin at 8:05 a.m. on Wednesdays for professional development, attendance at this time is not required.
