We’re hiring a Warehouse Associate to join our team. This role supports warehouse operations across receiving, put-away, picking, packing, loading, routing, and related duties in a fast-paced environment as part of the World Electric Supply team within the Sonepar group.
What You’ll Do
- Receiving: read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, and packing slips to determine items to move or distribute; mark materials with identifying information; open containers; verify and record quantities; operate equipment to transport items within the warehouse; enter records into the computer; compile worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.
- Put away and storage: sort and place material on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined codes; weigh or count items for distribution; store stocked goods in the warehouse.
- Picking and packing: assemble customer orders from stock, place orders on pallets or shelves, or convey orders to packing/shipping; verify picked product and document discrepancies; use computer systems to enter records; prepare and pack orders for shipment.
- Loading and routing: consolidate freight for shipping; load trucks for delivery to customers; manage shipping tickets and verify shipping methods; communicate oversize loads to freight carriers; maintain shipping routes.
- Pipe yard (if applicable): receive pipe and conduit; prepare pipe and conduit bundles for shipping orders.
What You’ll Bring
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or
- Three months or more related experience and/or training; or
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Write routine reports and correspondence.
- Perform basic math: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure; compute rate, ratio, and percent; interpret bar graphs.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and general computer use.
- Previous forklift/cherry picker experience.
- Basic safety knowledge (e.g., proper lifting techniques).
Physical Demands
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and sliding of packages up to 75 lbs; occasionally more with assistance.
- Standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching, and continuous manual dexterity; flexibility and mobility in movements.
- Occasional need for extended physical effort and alertness to maintain safety and accuracy.
