We are hiring a Warehouse Associate to join our team!
Job Type: Full Time
What You’ll Do
- Reading production schedules, orders, work orders, shipping orders, packing slips, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
- Marking materials with identifying information; opening bales, crates, and other containers.
- Verifying and recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
- Driving equipment to transport items within the warehouse.
- Using computer to enter records; compiling worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.
- Putting away, sorting, and storing stocked goods according to predetermined criteria (size, style, product code).
- Weighing or counting items to ensure conformance to company standards.
- Picking: filling requisitions and distributing items to customers and sales; assembling orders on pallets or conveying to packing/shipping.
- Verifying picked products and documenting discrepancies; updating tickets and entering records.
- Loading and consolidating freight for shipping; loading trucks for delivery to customers.
- Routing: facilitating and distributing shipping tickets and verifying shipping methods; managing delayed release tickets.
- Communicating oversize loads to freight carriers; inspecting and maintaining printing equipment; ensuring shipping routes are maintained.
- Pipe Yard tasks: receive pipe and conduit; prepare bundles for shipping orders.
What You’ll Bring
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or GED; or three months or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requirements:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Write routine reports and correspondence.
- Basic math: add, subtract, multiply, and divide; compute rate, ratio, and percent; interpret bar graphs.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and basic Internet use.
- Previous forklift/cherry picker experience; basic safety knowledge (proper lifting techniques, etc.).
Physical Demands: (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.)
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and slide packages up to 75 lbs.
- Standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching, and constant use of hands; continuous mental and visual alertness for safety and accuracy; flexibility and mobility in body movements.
- Occasionally, lifting items greater than 75 lbs with assistance.
