The Human Resources Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating HR activities for manufacturing operations. This includes overseeing recruitment, employee relations, compensation and benefits, performance management, compliance with labor regulations, and fostering a positive workplace culture. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in manufacturing HR and a proven ability to lead in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all HR functions for manufacturing operations, including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, compensation & benefits, safety, and HR compliance.
- Serve as a bridge between management and employees, resolving work-related issues and administering labor policies.
- Conduct new employee orientation to support engagement and alignment with organizational goals.
- Maintain and administer compensation, benefits, and performance management systems.
- Analyze HR metrics such as turnover, absenteeism, staffing needs, and performance to guide management decisions.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Lead employee relations efforts, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, investigations, and exit interviews.
- Collaborate with plant management to develop and implement training and development programs.
- Assist in budgeting for HR operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of HR experience, with at least 2–3 years in a manufacturing or similar operational environment.
- Strong knowledge of HR laws and regulations, safety compliance, compensation & benefits, and performance management.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Leadership experience with the ability to supervise, mentor, and develop HR staff.
Preferred / Bonus Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Experience with unionized workforce or labor contract negotiations.
- Experience managing HR in high-volume production environments.
- Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, PHR/SPHR).
