Physical Therapist – Long-Term Care/SNF - Travel Position Location: St. Louis, MO Job Type: Travel Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 5x8s Days Pay: $1,955/week
Job Description We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to join a skilled nursing and long-term care facility in St. Louis, MO, on a travel contract. The Physical Therapist will evaluate residents, create personalized care plans, and deliver therapy services to promote mobility, strength, balance, and overall independence. The ideal candidate is compassionate, adaptable, and experienced in geriatric rehabilitation.
Key Responsibilities Perform evaluations to assess residents’ physical function, mobility, and therapy needs. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams. Provide therapy interventions including gait training, strengthening, balance activities, and functional mobility exercises. Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapy goals, safety strategies, and proper use of assistive devices. Document evaluations, progress notes, and therapy sessions accurately and in compliance with facility and regulatory standards. Collaborate with occupational therapy, speech therapy, and nursing staff to ensure patient-centered care. Support residents in regaining independence and improving quality of life through evidence-based therapy practices.
Qualifications Doctorate or Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program. Current and valid Physical Therapist license in Missouri. Minimum of 1 year of recent PT experience, preferably in LTC/SNF settings. Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS). COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test. Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills. Compassionate, resident-centered approach with geriatric rehab experience preferred.
