Providence Public Schools District (PPSD) seeks an exceptional
Director of Industry Partnerships
who is highly qualified and skilled to join our community of administrators, teachers, staff, students and stakeholders. We serve approximately 22,000 students at 37 elementary, middle, and high schools. Approximately 55% of students come from homes where English is not the primary language spoken. Combined, our students and families speak 55 different languages and hail from 91 countries of origin.

The Director of Industry Partnerships will lead and support the implementation of the CTE for All Grant at Juanita Sanchez Life Science Institute. The Director will work with school administrators, teachers, and staff in the implementation of an innovative whole-school focus on Career and Technical Education, designed to concurrently: 1) prepare students with the skills and credentials needed for success in college and careers, and 2) strengthen the alignment of our CTE programs to RI's economic development priorities and our industry partners' needs
REPORTS TO:
Works under the supervision of the Senior Advisor to the Superintendent with wide latitude to exercise independent professional judgment to support the mission of the district.

EDUCATION / WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRMENTS:
Doctoral Degree from an accredited institution Certification as a District Administrator from the Rhode Island Department of Education At least 2 years of experience in the private sector working on education and workforce development in the health and life sciences; At least 5 years of experience working in district leadership At least 5 years of experience working at the Rhode Island Department of Education; At least 5 years of experience working as a classroom teacher; MINIMUM QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
Strong facilitation, coaching, and adult professional development skills; Ability to build and lead collaborative, cross-functional teams; Effective oral and written communication skills across diverse audiences; Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with attention to detail and follow-through; Deep commitment to equity, inclusion, culturally responsive practices, and high expectations for all learners; Demonstrated track record of improving student outcomes; Previous experience developing state-approved career and technical education programs; and Ability to collaborate with colleagues and administration to ensure effective systemic implementation. And / or any combination of education, experience, and knowledge and skills deemed substantially equivalent by the Superintendent or designee to those listed above DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and support the implementation of the main components of the CTE for All Grant by providing job-embedded coaching to school administrators, school-based leadership team, teachers, staff, and community partners that advance the goals of the grant; Foster a collaborative school culture that focuses on designing systems and structures that cultivate shared leadership and decision making; Coordinate the establishment of academic and CTE programs designed to increase access to high-skill and high-growth jobs; Leverage external partnerships to strengthen the curricula offerings with on-site support; Develop industry-led online instructional materials that can be shared with other schools; Expand internships, work-based learning, and paid employment opportunities for students; Expand opportunities for students to earn industry certification(s) and/or college credits; Implement a new high school schedule to foster deeper learning in and outside of school; Support the Implementation of a schoolwide instructional framework and academic classes that complement CTE; Develop systems to graduate students who have earned advanced standing for college and careers by acquiring stackable industry-recognized credentials; Design and implement systems that enable students to purposefully pursue their passions on selfselected learning paths that prepare them to succeed in college and careers, earn post-secondary recognized credits via academic, career, online, self-paced, independent, college classes, competencytesting, and out-of-school learning; ] Advance the development and implementation of Start, Stay, and Finish Strong Programs - A comprehensive system of academic, career, and personal/social services, transition programs and domain-specific supports that ensure students stay focused on the future, make yearly progress, and successfully complete college and career classes; Advance the development of foundational knowledge and transferable skills within an aligned instructional system that progressively develops foundational competencies, applications of knowledge, and fosters in students the capacity, agency, and autonomy needed to earn college credits and/or industry certifications before graduating; Support the design and implementation of systemsthat leverage multiple aspects of a school to enhance student outcomes - including allocation of resources, comprehensive school counseling, individual learning plans, flexible block scheduling, personalization period, and connections to parents, community, business, and higher education; Support the tracking, documentation, and analysis of Metrics for Success aligned to the CTE for All Grant Outcomes and relevant RI Diploma Plus Graduation Requirements. Metrics include, but are not limited to, the acquisition of college credits, industry certifications, work-based learning experiences, and college and career acceptance rates; Support the refinement of Individual Learning Plans (ILP) as needed to help students plan, organize and enhance their academic, career, and person/al social development; Work collaboratively with district and building administrators, as well as professional staff, as part of a professional learning community focused on the development of foundational knowledge and transferrable skills; Use current research and resources related to district and school goals and staff development; Director of Industry Partnerships Developed: August 2025 Prepare subject area reports, budget, presentations, and communication in print, electronic, and/or web-based formats as requested by district administrators; and Performs other duties as assigned.
