We are seeking an experienced Controls Automation Engineer to provide technical and engineering support for industrial automation systems and electronic controls. This is a hands-on role with broad responsibility for design, programming, troubleshooting, and upgrading automated machinery while mentoring technicians and apprentices in best practices. The ideal candidate is a seasoned engineer with 10+ years in industrial automation, advanced programming skills, and deep familiarity with Siemens, Allen Bradley, and related control systems. What You’ll Do

Design, read, and modify electrical, fluid power

(hydraulics/pneumatics),

and P ID schematics in compliance with IEC and NFPA standards. Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems across Siemens, Allen Bradley, and other platforms. Develop and modify programming in multiple languages, including Siemens SCL, Ladder Logic, VB, C++, C#, Java, Python, and SQL. Install, commission, repair, and retrofit industrial machinery and control systems, including obsolete equipment requiring custom solutions. Perform advanced troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, thermal imagers, vibration analyzers, and other test equipment. Train and mentor

technicians/apprentices

in programming, troubleshooting, and instrumentation calibration. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and PPE requirements while supporting operations across multiple facilities. Must Have

Associate’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent

experience/certifications. 10+ years of direct experience in industrial automation and controls. Proven proficiency with Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC programming, Ladder Logic, HMIs, VFDs, and SCADA systems. Strong experience with blueprints, schematics, P ID diagrams, and industrial communications protocols. Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server and database programming. Hands-on expertise with industrial testing equipment and troubleshooting tools. Strong understanding of NFPA 70 Electrical Code. Ability to work onsite, travel between facilities, and support multiple departments. Nice to Have

Siemens or Allen-Bradley programming certification. State-issued electrical trades license. Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical. Supervisory or training experience with technicians, apprentices, or interns.
