Location: Shelton (Hybrid Schedule)
Pay: $65,000 – $70,000 per year

Position Summary

The Staff Accountant will support the Finance team by managing general ledger accounting, treasury functions, and monthly close activities. This hybrid role is based in Seymour, CT, and offers a strong opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional to contribute to a growing consumer products company. The Staff Accountant will take ownership of reconciliations, reporting, and compliance while collaborating with auditors and internal departments to ensure financial accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the month-end closing process.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and record general ledger entries for cash transactions.
• Maintain fixed asset accounting and monitor company lending and financial covenants.
• Analyze and reconcile sub-ledgers, balance sheet accounts, and P&L accounts.
• Support year-end audit and coordinate quarterly field exams and inventory appraisals.
• Prepare and file sales and use tax returns.
• Assist with other accounting and finance-related projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 5–8 years of corporate accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
