Job Summary

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) plays a critical role in driving a high-performance culture by supporting people-focused initiatives that align with Fabick Cat's strategic goals. Under the guidance of the Divisional HR Manager (DHRM), the HRBP partners with leadership to deliver comprehensive HR support in areas including employee relations, organizational development, performance management, training, compensation, and compliance. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic HR Partnership
    • Collaborate with HR and Leadership to foster an engaged, high-performing workforce aligned with business goals.
    • Lead change management initiatives, aligning stakeholders and supporting successful implementation.
    • Identify organizational needs and implement solutions related to employee development, culture, policy, and performance.
    • Promote and ensure consistent application of company values and HR policies.
  • Employee Relations & Development
    • Conduct thorough workplace investigations and recommend appropriate actions.
    • Coach leaders and employees on performance, conduct, and corrective action.
    • Deliver employee development and training initiatives aligned with business and talent strategies.
    • Support succession planning and career path development across business units.
  • Healthcare Benefits
    • Knowledgeable on Fabick Cat benefit programs to best answer questions that may arise from employees.
  • HR Operations & Compliance
    • Maintain employee records in the HRIS (e.g., ADP Workforce Now); oversee changes, updates, and data accuracy.
    • Administer organizational changes, offboarding, and exit interviews.
    • Handle unemployment claims and hearings via a third-party vendor.
    • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws (FMLA, ADA, EEO, etc.).
    • Contribute to the evolution of HR programs related to compensation, benefits, recruiting, and L&D.
  • Engagement & Culture
    • Lead follow-up actions from employee roundtables, stay interviews, and feedback sessions.
    • Drive communication efforts to promote transparency and two-way dialogue across teams.
    • Promote a culture of accountability, equity, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of progressive HR Generalist or Business Partner experience; Talent Acquisition experience required.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of FMLA, ADA, EEO, and employment law compliance.
  • Strong decision-making, conflict resolution, and analytical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems (preferably ADP Workforce Now), Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear, and use hands.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, and bend.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift/move up to 30 pounds.
  • Vision abilities: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • May be exposed to louder environments while visiting service operations.

Work Environment

  • Office-based role with up to 40% travel throughout Fabick Cat's territory (WI, MI, MO, IL).
  • Must be able to work on-site full-time.
  • Occasional short-notice travel may be required.
