Overview
Our client, a mission-driven non-profit organization, is seeking an HR Generalist to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about supporting both employees and the organization’s mission. The HR Generalist will provide comprehensive HR support across the employee lifecycle, administer HR policies, manage employee relations, oversee leave administration, ensure compliance, support recruiting efforts, and assist with compensation and performance review programs.
Base pay range
$50.00/hr - $55.00/hr
Location and contract details: Hybrid, 4-5 month contract role based in San Francisco, CA.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for HR-related inquiries, ensuring timely and professional responses.
- Administer and manage leave of absence programs (FMLA, CFRA, disability, etc.), ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Support compensation and salary administration, including salary benchmarking and assisting with annual compensation reviews.
- Assist in planning and coordinating performance review cycles, including manager support and system administration.
- Manage full-cycle recruitment processes: job postings, candidate sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Maintain and update employee records and HRIS systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Generate and analyze HR reports using ADP for compliance, audits, and leadership reporting.
- Partner with leadership to ensure HR policies and practices align with organizational goals and compliance requirements.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and culture-building activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of HR Generalist experience, ideally within a non-profit environment.
- Proficiency with ADP HRIS and payroll systems required.
- Strong knowledge of HR compliance, employment laws, and leave administration.
- Experience with compensation processes and performance management cycles.
- Proven ability to manage recruiting processes end-to-end.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build trust across all levels of the organization.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
