Published: Nov 8, 2024 – The Actuarial Consultant provides actuarial leadership for product development, balancing growth, market needs, and regulatory standards. This role involves overseeing pricing models and filings to ensure compliance and accurate product representation. The consultant also supports system development and risk management, ensuring consistency in product design and assumptions across the organization.
Job Summary:
Support and provide leadership to a multitude of initiatives related to efficient and accurate financial reporting at the product line level. Collaborate with the underwriting team in creating risk-appropriate innovative pricing options for large and complex client relationships. Lead data and analytics efforts to support and drive data-driven decision-making, coordinating with Enterprise Data and Analytics as appropriate. Lead in evaluating the risk and financial implications resulting from competitive and environmental changes. Participate in annual experience and product studies and communicate the results to division management and Securian’s Enterprise actuarial unit. Perform quantitative analysis of drug utilization and cost data. Develop and review ad hoc exhibits based on detailed data sets. Assist in the development and preparation of quarterly financial forecasts. Become a trusted advisor of relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure the highest client satisfaction. Maintain and update existing pricing models and assist in the development of new pricing models/tools. Familiarization with various internal and external data sources. Drive automation of production processes. Extract, analyze, aggregate, and interpret quantitative data.
