Summary

This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. Duties

  • Directs extensive and comprehensive data analysis to identify potential risk areas and migrate operational failure of fielded software.
  • Provides technical support and guidance to staff in matters relating to information technology (IT) issues that involve a wide range of IT management that typically extend and apply to an entire organization or major components of an organization.
  • Leads and manages several projects and pilots to provide the overall direction, prioritize tasks and resources, resolve issues, and ensure all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to engineering standards.
  • Evaluates, designs, acquires, and modifies information management software, such as database management systems, life cycle development systems, and information directories, for use by organizations in managing applications/systems development.
  • Integrate systems components; e.g., procedures, databases, policies, software, and hardware; plans systems implementation; ensures the application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

Basic Requirements:

  • Attention to Detail – experience reviewing IT-related work or data and ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards.
  • Customer Service – developing and maintaining relationships with customers and identifying IT products or services to meet needs.
  • Oral Communication – briefing senior-level management and IT staff on IT systems, projects, or operations, including communicating complex information to a non-technical audience.
  • Problem Solving – identifying alternatives to address highly complex IT issues and evaluating potential solutions.

Qualifying Experience: Experience coordinating, managing, and implementing technical programs using project management skills through the program life cycle. One year of qualifying experience is required. Experience may be paid or unpaid, including volunteer work or military service, and may be at the next lower grade level in the federal service.

For this position, qualifying experience is defined as coordinating, managing, and implementing technical programs utilizing project management skills through the program life cycle.

Volunteer Experience: Credit for qualifying experience, including volunteer work, is allowed. Qualifications must be described in the resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date.

Combination of education and experience is not applicable for this position.

Education

There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experience at the GG-14 level.
