RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

RN - Med Surg Orthopedic

Job Details:

• Work 3 twelve-hour shifts per week with every other weekend required
• No guarantee of block scheduling
• Patient ratio of 5-6 patients to 1 nurse on a 25-bed unit
• Float to similar medical-surgical units as needed
• BLS certification required
• Experience with post-operative patients required
• Meditech experience preferred
• Navy scrubs and closed-toe shoes required
• Work with general nursing equipment for care of medical-surgical patients, specifically post-operative hip, knee, spine and other orthopedic procedures
• Use Meditech documentation system
• Participate in bedside shift reports and safety rounding (1 hour during day shift, 2 hours during night shift)
• Use AIDET communication method for all patient interactions
• Provide patient-centered care with courtesy and respect, keeping patients informed and making personal connections
• Unit staffing includes 4-5 nurses, 1-3 PCTs, and department secretary coverage
• No specific bedside or unit procedures performed beyond standard nursing care

The unit is well-equipped to meet both patient and staff needs, with experienced nursing staff including some with over 20 years of tenure.
