Overview
Front Desk / Office Receptionist (Temp-to-Hire Opportunity)
Compensation: $70,000–$80,000 base salary (potential flexibility for the right candidate)
We are partnering with a leading early-stage venture capital firm to find a polished, proactive Front Desk / Office Receptionist to support their small, dynamic team onsite in Menlo Park.
This is an exciting opportunity for a bright, hungry, go-getter who thrives in a fast-paced office setting and enjoys being the welcoming face of an organization. This role will start as a temporary assignment with the intention to convert to full-time hire if the match is strong.
This new hire will be the primary onsite presence at the front desk, ensuring the office runs smoothly day-to-day and providing much-needed coverage as the team prepares for an upcoming maternity leave and ongoing growth.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for guests, vendors, and deliveries
- Manage the front desk area and ensure a professional, welcoming environment
- Provide day-to-day office operations support (ordering supplies, mail, shipping, etc.)
- Assist with coordinating onsite meetings, events, and catering logistics
- Support the administrative team with ad hoc projects and overflow tasks
- Maintain a tidy, organized, and well-functioning office space
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a front desk, receptionist, office coordinator, or admin role
- Professional demeanor with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized, reliable, and adaptable — willing to roll up your sleeves
- Tech-savvy with basic proficiency in Google Workspace / MS Office
- Positive, team-oriented attitude and strong cultural alignment
- Self-starter with a “no task too small” mindset who thrives in a fast-paced environment
