Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations at the front desk, providing exceptional patient service, and maintaining accurate medical records. This position requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in various medical software systems, and a solid understanding of medical terminology and coding.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly and assist them with the check-in process.
  • Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently.
  • Handle phone calls using multi-line phone systems with professionalism and excellent phone etiquette.
  • Verify insurance information and perform insurance verification for patients.
  • Collect co-pays and manage medical collections accurately.
  • Submit insurance prior authorizations.
  • Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, including care plans and medical histories.
  • Utilize EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar software for patient management.
  • Assist with medical billing processes, including CPT coding and ICD coding (ICD-9 and ICD-10).
  • Provide clerical support including filing, typing, and managing correspondence.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure effective communication regarding patient care.
  • Maintain office equipment and supplies as needed.

Experience

  • Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role within a medical office or clinic setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and health information management practices is essential.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, coding (CPT/ICD), and documentation review is preferred.
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to enhance patient communication.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and 10-key typing abilities.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction.
  • Experience working in a medical office or hospital environment is a plus. Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $30.00 per hour
