All positions are on-site, located in Tyler, Texas, unless otherwise stated in the job posting. DESCRIPTION The Office Assistant plays an integral role in supporting the daily operations of TJC North. This individual will contribute to the daily operations of the site, including opening and closing the building and serving as the primary point of contact for students, staff, and visitors during their shift. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and customer service skills and a strong attention to detail.
This position requires availability between the hours of 5 pm - 9 pm, Monday through Thursday.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
Responsible for opening the building during assigned shifts, ensuring safety protocols are followed Performs routine walkthroughs, ensuring the building is safe, clean, and operational, and reports issues to appropriate personnel Serves as the initial point of contact for TJC North by answering phones, greeting visitors, managing the department email inbox, and working with various departments within TJC Performs office duties such as managing building signage, ordering and storing supplies/swag, copying, printing, and maintaining an organized workspace Assists with events relating to academic programs, workshops, or other special events at TJC North. Coordinates with faculty and staff to address program needs during operational hours COMPETENCIES

QUALIFICATIONS Required Education
High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Experience
One year of experience in an administrative, customer service, or campus support role
Preferred Experience
Two years of experience in an administrative, customer service, or campus support role

This position is located at TJC West in Lindale This position requires the flexibility to work varying shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, as needed Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Basic computer skills, including email, Microsoft Office, and familiarity with office equipment (e.g., printers, phones) Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle multiple tasks Customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
