Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • An individual who exemplifies the highest standards of ethical behavior and integrity
  • Experience designing and administering performance management and improvement systems
  • Experience designing and administering training and development programs that address employee and organizational needs at all levels
  • Excellent employee relations skills, including problem resolution and employee counseling capabilities
  • Familiar with benefit program administration and wellness programs, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA and other benefit laws and regulations
  • Familiar with employee safety programs
  • Understand and oversee leave management programs
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with human resource issues and apply appropriate decision making/technology/methodologies to resolve
  • Complete knowledge and understanding of national and local human resource laws and compliance matters
  • Experience responding to inquiries and complaints from federal and state regulatory agencies relating to employment practices
  • Ability to adapt to change, and lead others through change process
  • Experience with Workers Compensation
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and familiarity with HRIS systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills adaptable to senior management and general company population
  • Strategic thinker with ability to be hands-on when required
  • Ability to effectively manage risk
  • Experience maintaining a non-union environment and positive employee climate
  • Experience managing a staff of Human Resources Professionals
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize work
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and execution skills

Education and Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • Minimum of 7 years generalist human resources experience required, with 4 years at a Manager level or above
  • Understanding of applicable employment laws and regulations. Industrial Safety and Hygiene experience

Preferred:

  • 10+ years generalist human resources experience, with 5+ years or more at a Manager level or above
  • Master’s degree in related field from an accredited graduate program
  • Certification in Human Resources (PHR or SPHR)
  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years HR generalist experience ideally in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
