Associate Attorney – Health Care & Life Sciences Washington, DC (preferred) | Chicago, IL | New York, NY
Direct Counsel is partnering with a leading national law firm to identify an
Associate Attorney
with 2–6 years of experience to join its Health Care & Life Sciences practice. While the role is open in Washington, DC, Chicago, and New York, the firm has a strong preference for candidates based in Washington, DC. This is an opportunity to work with a respected team advising health care providers, life sciences companies, and related industry stakeholders on complex regulatory, transactional, and compliance matters. Key Responsibilities: Advise clients on federal and state health care regulatory matters, including fraud and abuse laws, reimbursement, licensing, HIPAA, and compliance
Support transactional matters involving mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and affiliations in the health care and life sciences sectors
Draft and negotiate commercial agreements and regulatory filings
Conduct legal research and provide strategic guidance to clients navigating evolving regulations
Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on high-impact industry matters
Qualifications: 2–6 years of relevant experience in health care or life sciences law
Familiarity with federal and state regulatory regimes (e.g., Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, HIPAA, FDA, CMS)
Transactional and/or compliance experience preferred
Strong research, drafting, and communication skills
Admission to the Bar in the relevant jurisdiction or eligibility to obtain
Compensation & Benefits: Base salary range:
$235,000 – $390,000 , depending on experience and location
