Job Title: Patient Services Representative I (PSR I)
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the company to patients who come in for routine health services or health-related inquiries. The PSR I is responsible for drawing quality blood samples from patients and preparing specimens for lab testing, following established practices and procedures.
The PSR I interacts directly with patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence. They explain procedures clearly and perform blood draws in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner. The role requires demonstrating leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence, and maintaining sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the supervision of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe and professional environment.
- Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic) preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 6 months experience required; 1+ years preferred.
- Customer service experience in retail or service environments preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience is required.
