Overview
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the company to patients who come in, both as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions. The ENTRY PSR I helps with patient care by greeting them upon arrival and answering any questions or concerns with care and compassion. The ENTRY PSR I also helps maintain the integrity of the waiting area and assists with breaks when other Phlebotomists are unavailable. This position will be trained on Phlebotomy skills to grow within the company. The ENTRY PSR I has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining what to expect to patients regarding the scheduled procedure in a safe and accurate manner. The ENTRY PSR I demonstrates excellence in customer care while focusing on process skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information. The impact of this role is to maintain the lobby’s integrity and ensure that all patients are provided with the level of service expected.
Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the area supervisor, perform daily activities accurately and on time.
- Maintain a safe and professional environment.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees and the public, with a willingness to learn new skills.
- Greet patients, assist with check-ins in the lobby through a self-service kiosk or handheld tablet, and support the patient experience.
- Learn Phlebotomy skills and be prepared to cover breaks when Phlebotomists are unavailable.
- Respect confidentiality and ensure accuracy of patient information during interactions and procedures.
Job Requirements
- Ability to handle patients with care and compassion while assisting with check-ins in the lobby through either a self-service kiosk or handheld tablet.
- Be willing to learn Phlebotomy skills when there is downtime or breaks that need to be covered.
- Once Phlebotomy skills are obtained, perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures with confidence.
- High level of customer service experience/skills is required.
Required Education
- High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED
Work Experience
- Minimum of 1-2 years of client-facing customer service REQUIRED (Retail, Home Health Aide, etc.).
- Prior Phlebotomy experience is NOT required.
- Keyboard/data entry experience is a must.
This is an entry position into Phlebotomy, so candidates must be willing to learn this skill. If they only want to work at the front desk or as a greeter and are not willing to learn Phlebotomy, please do not apply.

Offer of Employment Process
When making any offer of employment to a successful candidate, Mindlance staff informs the candidate of the client’s contingent offer. Upon successful completion of the background check and drug screen, submission of Mindlance paperwork and any client-specific documents, the associate will be cleared for the assignment. Once start instructions are received (typically the Friday prior to the candidate’s start date), the account management team will provide starting instructions.
