Overview

HR Coordinator (Finance)

Coordinate human resource activities for the facility and aid the Human Resource Manager and HR Dept in programs to support employees.

Responsibilities

  • Support HR Manager in carrying out HR programs and perform diversified clerical and administrative activities.
  • Assist in learning and training programs, including new hire orientation.
  • Input new hire and termination data into the system; maintain hourly personnel and confidential files.
  • Track daily attendance of hourly employees; create and maintain files for newly hired team members.
  • Record changes to employee status (e.g., address changes, departmental transfers, rate increases, terminations).
  • Process and record information such as personal data, compensation, benefits, tax data, and attendance; file paperwork and upload documents for Federal programs and mandates.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees and provide information to authorized personnel.
  • Establish effective working relationships with employees and facility leadership; uphold confidentiality, honesty, and integrity.
  • Maintain and distribute current employee information, policy and procedure manuals, and other communications; conduct short orientations to explain benefits.
  • Verify time information from managers and supervisors weekly to ensure proper pay processing; maintain and update HRIS data; ensure attendance records accuracy.
  • Assist in general HR responsibilities for the facility, including staffing, job bid process, applications, requisition management, hiring, transfers, interviewing, and directing the new hire process as needed.
  • Participate in team development, communication, and policy implementation; attend appropriate team meetings and support cohesiveness across the organization.
  • Familiarize with Simmons operating system principles and objectives; understand impact of actions on systems and communicate concerns or improvement ideas.
  • Perform other duties as necessary to support business objectives.

Physical and Work Environment

  • Physical Activities: Enter and locate information on a computer; visually verify information; communicate with customers, vendors, and employees via various channels; may present to groups; work in various temperatures; move around a manufacturing environment.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): As required by the facility.
  • Travel: Domestic travel to multiple facilities or work-sites.

Qualifications

  • Technical Experience: 1 year of experience in human resources; thorough understanding of HR policies and laws; proficient use of Microsoft Suite.
  • Industry Experience: Preference for food processing organization.
  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree in HR Development, Organization Development, Human Resources, Organizational Behavior, IO Psychology or related degrees; SPHR Certification.
