Overview
The HSC Faculty Contracts Office seeks a highly motivated, organized person to join our team as an HR Tech. It is a challenging position that requires dedication to excellence in customer service and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and responsibilities. This individual will administer and assist in human resource and hiring matters concerning HSC faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and temporary part-time faculty.
This includes:
- Providing operational and administrative support to the HSC Faculty Contracts staff
- Providing advice and assistance to faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and staff on hiring, employment policies and procedures, and benefits
- Conducting benefits orientation
- Maintaining source data and records utilizing an internal database and Banner
- Processing of Volunteer faculty and affiliates
- Administering and monitoring faculty payroll and nonstandard payments and ensuring accurate and timely achievement of payroll deadlines while maintaining the accuracy of payroll and demographic data
- Administering, verifying, and monitoring I-9s and documentation
- Other miscellaneous job-related duties
Conditions of Employment
- Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University\'s influenza vaccination requirement.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Providing high-quality customer service in an academic setting
- Processing faculty, postdoc, and TPT hiring at UNM
- Processing faculty, postdoc, TPT payroll documents in Banner
- Working with sensitive information and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Controlling and organizing multiple projects/tasks that require follow-up, all in a busy team environment
- Working well within a team environment and with a diverse community
- UNM policies & procedures, including OEO faculty search guidelines and School of Medicine specific faculty policies
- Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, Outlook, and website design, development and maintenance
- Banner HR and Payroll systems
