They are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager who can thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and help strengthen the foundation for scalable growth.
Position Summary
The Accounting Manager will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across financial reporting and internal controls. This role is highly visible within the organization and will work closely with leadership to support strategic decision-making as the company grows. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and energized by the unique challenges and opportunities of a high-growth apparel business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, inventory, and payroll.
- Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial statements.
- Manage inventory accounting, including costing, margin analysis, and reconciliations, in collaboration with supply chain and operations teams.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to support a growing organization.
- Partner with FP&A, sales, and operations teams to provide insights on performance, cash flow, and business drivers.
- Support annual audit and tax preparation with external auditors and advisors.
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff; foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and growth.
- Contribute to ERP system enhancements and process improvements to scale with company growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with exposure to the apparel, retail, or consumer products industries.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
- Experience managing inventory and cost accounting in a product-based business.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, or similar); advanced Excel skills.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to partner across departments.
- Hands-on and adaptable to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
