Overview

Dental Office Assistant role at Heartland Dental – Front Desk Dental Assistant, Brooksville, FL. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:30am–5pm. No weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome patients as they enter the office to create a positive first impression
  • Manage front office duties, including answering phones, checking mail/email, and communicating with patients and insurance companies
  • Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and records
  • Schedule and confirm appointments for multiple providers
  • File patient insurance claims and follow up on outstanding claims, verification of benefits, and explanation of coverage
  • Post insurance and patient payments and process accounts receivable
  • Review treatment plan fees and payment options with patients
  • Partner with providers and the team to implement Heartland Dental systems to optimize office potential

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience working in a fast-paced and customer-centric environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Access to minimum PHI for job-related functions; regular HIPAA training will be required; protect PHI and maintain data safeguards

Preferred Experience

  • 1+ years of experience in a dental or medical setting
  • 1+ years of experience with insurance billing and accounts receivable
  • Dentrix or other dental software experience

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation; reasonable accommodations may be made
  • Prolonged sitting at a desk and computer use
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
  • Availability to attend virtual or in-person training sessions periodically
  • TB test is required for new hires in dental offices (not applicable in FL & TN for this posting); pre-employment coordination will be provided
