Job Description
Responsible for custodial duties to keep facilities clean and safe
Reports to: Director of Administration
Hours: Part-time, M-F 3pm - 8pm, August through June
All staff members must agree to support all sections of the ECS Declaration of Faith , and must whole-heartedly affirm sections 1-5, 8-13, 21-23.
- Maintains safe working conditions and practices
- Must know or learn the proper use of all chemicals used
- Work with office administrative assistants to maintain updated MDS sheets that pertain to chemicals in use
- Maintain all cleaning equipment
- Follow all cleaning schedules as posted
- Check and fill all paper products
- Clean glass in doors in assigned areas
- Sweep, vacuum, dust mop or wet mop floors in assigned areas
- Collect trash from assigned areas, take to dumpster, and replace trash bags
- Dust all assigned areas weekly
- Clean and sanitize restrooms
- Use floor scrubbers to clean hallways and gyms as assigned
- Complete all assigned areas for cleaning by end of shift
- Respond promptly to emergency issues related to cleaning and safety
- Other duties as needed and assigned by the Director of Administration
Requirements
- Demonstrate evidence of personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
- Pastoral reference from local church to verify regular attendance and active involvement
- Adhere to the mission statement, core values, Code of Conduct, and Statement of Faith of Emmanuel Christian School
- Experience of not less than one year in institutional cleaning as well as basic maintenance and upkeep of facilities
- Physically able to operate cleaning equipment, set up and tear down folding tables, lunch tables and chairs, move furniture
- Able to work both independently and in a team environment
- Strong people skills with both adults and children
- Able to communicate in person and in writing in a professional and godly manner
- Manage time effectively to complete all daily tasks in areas of responsibility
