Airgas is Hiring for a Welding & Automation Specialist in Birmingham, AL or Memphis, TN. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace.
Responsibilities
- Report directly to the District Manager and grow the rental, lease and sales of Red D Arc Specialty Products, including sub-arc systems, positioners, manipulators, turning rolls, orbital and heat treating equipment, blasting products and related welding equipment in the Mid-South Region.
- Follow up on sales leads, make presentations professionally, prepare quotes, and produce conceptual Hard Automation application drawings.
- Expand current Hard Automation sales channels and develop new channels (e.g., growing lines, cladding systems, hard automation work cell integration and other specialized Hard Automation Integration applications).
- Recommend Weld Automation product line applications and develop/maintain customer relationships to move customers from novice to competent self-performers in orbital welding and heat treating.
- Train Red-D-Arc field sales teams and Airgas Advanced Fabrication Specialists to understand capabilities and grow standard and specialized PMT sales.
- Initiate and grow relationships with Red-D-Arc Sales Leaders to expand Weld Automation Sales within each district.
- Coordinate and perform onsite setup of equipment and demonstrations; work as part of a team to provide customer solutions; provide exceptional customer service.
- Represent the company at trade association meetings and trade shows; cold-call and compile lists of potential customers and leads.
- Maintain accurate and timely reports including business plans and regional forecasts; travel required 50%.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications - MATCH
- Post-secondary education equivalent to an Associate degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
- Greater than five years of sales experience in Weld Process Sales.
- Strong background in all welding processes with emphasis on automation and SAW.
- Preferred qualifications/certifications such as CWI, CWE, CRAW, CWS, NCCER instructor, etc.
- Ability to anticipate and solve problems, act decisively, and persist in the face of obstacles.
- Adaptable to set and prioritize work with varying requirements; excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to multi-task and work independently with little supervision; ability to work as part of a project team.
- Excellent technical knowledge along with strong interpersonal and management skills; strong customer service mindset and proactive communication with supervisors and teams.
