S&P Global Commodity Insights (CI) Commercial and CX Graduate Program

Role: Associate, Commercial and CX

Location: New York or Houston (hybrid role)

The Commodity Insights Commercial and CX Graduate Program begins with an intensive 5-week onboarding in our London office. The 3-month period thereafter will be part of the NAMER Customer Success Team, focusing on building foundational knowledge of the commodity markets, developing essential business-related skills, and learning about CI data, research and analytical products. As part of Customer Success, you will be a primary contact for clients, providing solutions to requests in a timely, professional and courteous manner and delivering training on CI products through virtual and onsite visits.

The program includes rotations to customer success, sales, channel management and marketing to give graduates a holistic view of the business. You will complete certification milestones and undergo a rigorous evaluation process to test and stretch your skills. As you progress, you may support the sales team and contribute to generating additional revenue for growth.

You will have the opportunity to help S&P Global Commodity Insights achieve its mission of delivering high-quality price assessments and analytical information to global financial and commodity markets. Our real-time news, pricing and analytical services promote transparency and efficiency worldwide. As a principal provider to more than 10,000 customers in 150 countries with 20 offices across five continents, you will join a globally diverse workforce and a dynamic, growing organization. Our data, analytics, and research help customers make informed decisions.

We are seeking high achievers from a diverse pool of current undergraduates or recent graduates who are passionate about energy and commodities markets and want to develop their careers in a dynamic, high-performing, multicultural commercial and CX team. You should demonstrate intellectual curiosity, creativity, learning agility and problem-solving skills, with effective networking and collaboration abilities. Proficiency in Generative AI technologies and the ability to leverage these tools for innovative solutions will be highly valued.

What’s in it for you:

You will join a cohort of Commercial and CX Associates and be introduced to world-class experts in various commodities. They will present on how commodity markets work and provide perspectives on global economic, political, technological and legal issues related to their specializations. You will participate in an e-learning curriculum covering foundational knowledge about the technical aspects of various commodities and markets. You will have opportunities to present topics to senior management and receive constructive feedback. Throughout the program you will learn how to use CI products, Excel add-ins and CRM systems. You will be challenged daily with a steep learning curve and will work with a broad range of clients, including governments, investment banks, commodity trading houses, major oil and gas companies, hedge funds and other industry players, as part of a large, energetic international team with growth opportunities.

Career paths after the initial 18 months include:

  • Regional Sales
  • Specialist Sales
  • Customer Success

Responsibilities:

  • Help clients understand how to navigate and extract useful data from the CI product range.

  • Support sales teams with research and proposals.
  • Build account overviews and plans to support strategic sales teams.
  • Design data-driven models and templates for clients.
