CNA Requirements
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- BLS certification (required)
- Minimum 1 year of bedside clinical experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow hospital guidelines for personal appearance, attendance, and punctuality
CNA Responsibilities
- Provide routine patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Assist with bedside nursing and accurate documentation of care
- Promote patient and employee safety, including safe patient handling and infection control procedures
- Support menu management for patients, including assembling, delivering, and retrieving menus according to prescribed diets
- Assist patients with menu selections and ensure compliance with dietary restrictions and preferences
- Update diet changes and menu labeling as needed
- Communicate patient care and food service issues to the healthcare department
- Perform clerical assignments in the Food & Nutrition office (faxing, answering phones, filing, photocopying)
- Maintain proper levels of office and menu supplies
- Attend in-services and departmental meetings
- Assist trayline, food service aides, or catering as needed
- Adhere to HIPAA and Joint Commission guidelines
- Other duties as assigned
