Responsibilities
- Deliver basic nursing care to adult and geriatric residents in a hospital long-term care environment
- Assist with daily living activities: bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output; promptly report abnormal findings to supervising nurse
- Collect and transport specimens as needed
- Maintain a safe, clean environment; prepare rooms for admissions and discharges
- Assist with positioning, lifting, and transferring residents
- Support residents with personal belongings and comfort items
- Cross-train to additional hospital departments (Emergency, Labor & Delivery, Surgical) as needed
- Participate in performance improvement projects; serve as a preceptor for new CNA staff or students
- Perform supply duties and ensure adequate stock levels in assigned units
Qualifications & Requirements
- Active, unrestricted Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in Alaska
- Current BLS certification (Basic Life Support)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of CNA experience preferred in hospital or long-term care settings
- Ability to lift and assist non-ambulatory residents regularly
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (travel CNA requirement)
- Completion of unit-specific courses as needed (e.g., POC/waived testing)
