Part-Time Accounts Payable Specialist Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Part-Time Accounts Payable Specialist to support their accounting team. This role will be responsible for processing vendor invoices, ensuring accurate and timely payments, and assisting with general accounting duties. This position is 100% onsite in Waterbury, CT and it is 20 hours/ week Key Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist: Review, verify, and process vendor invoices, ensuring proper coding and approvals. Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH, and wire payments. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Maintain accurate and organized AP records, both electronic and paper files. Assist with monthly closing tasks, including AP accruals and reporting. Respond to vendor inquiries and build strong relationships with suppliers. Support the accounting team with ad hoc projects as needed. Qualifications of the Accounts Payable Specialist: 2+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience required. Strong knowledge of invoice processing, 3-way match, and payment procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, etc.). Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Target Compensation: $25/hr
