starting at $60,000 About the Company Our client is a Stamford, CT-based, value-oriented middle-market private equity firm focused on control buyout investments. They partner with founder and family-owned businesses, working closely with management teams to execute strategic visions, drive sustainable growth, and deliver long-term value to investors. The firm currently manages over $1.4 billion in assets and is actively investing from its second flagship fund, with plans for significant growth in the next 12-24 months. Position Overview The Accounting & Accounts Payable Analyst (Temporary) will report to the VP of Finance & Operations. This role is responsible for accurate and timely invoice processing, vendor due diligence, expense reimbursements, journal entries, and other accounting functions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Process and code vendor invoices accurately
Prepare bi-weekly invoice payment runs via ACH/Wire Transfers
Perform vendor due diligence (collect W-8/W-9 forms, conduct banking verifications, set up new vendors in QuickBooks)
Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status
Review T&E reports and prepare for payment processing
Record monthly Corporate Card transactions
Record daily bank transactions and verify ACH/Check debit block activities
Process month-end bank reconciliations
Prepare reclass/month-end journal entries, including accruals and prepaid entries
Assist with the month-end close and perform general ledger account reconciliations
Generate financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
Assist with financial and expense analysis
Support the preparation and filing of tax returns
Assist with audits, documentation gathering, and ad hoc projects
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
2-5 years of accounting and/or accounts payable experience
Experience with QuickBooks and Concur preferred
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Strong process orientation and time management abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
