Department History Overview

Harris County Resources for Children and Adults was founded in 1966 as Harris County Child Welfare Board to provide support services for the children taken under the wing of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. Fifty years later, Harris County Resources for Children and Adults still provides this support. But the now-county department has expanded services for early prevention, intervention, and adult services.

Position Description

Under the supervision of the TRIAD Home Safe Program Manager, this position provides administrative support and ensures infrastructure is in place to meet grant requirements, supplies, and support following the County’s guidelines.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Enter CSE-IT data results into the Lighthouse portal.
  • Coordinate client updates on a weekly and monthly basis, based on update type.
  • Assist with scheduling Triad Home Safe Relief Hotline staff, including tracking the relief budget, maintaining staff rotation, and notifying administrators of budget status and signed timesheets.
  • Utilize the STARs Financial portal system to develop and present monthly budget reports during meetings with the Program Manager and Supervisor.
  • Assist in preparing materials for Home Safe-funded trainings.
  • Monitor and process purchase orders and invoices to ensure efficient program cost payments to Harris County.
  • Prepare court letters related to budget expenditures requiring documentation.
  • Attend required trainings and complete all assigned tasks as determined by program administrators.

Requirements

Education: A high school diploma or its equivalent.

Experience: Minimum two (2) years’ full-time work experience as an administrative assistant. Training and experience using a personal computer with software such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel.

Licensure: Reliable transportation with a valid Texas driver’s license and auto liability insurance.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Follows written and oral instructions; excellent organizational skills; detail-oriented and self-motivated; able to interact with all levels of staff; strong oral and written communication; problem solving and critical thinking; works with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment; maintains confidentiality; interacts with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

General Information

Position Type, and Typical Hours of Work: Full-time | Grant Funded; Monday – Friday | 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Salary: $41,600.00--$49,753.60 (Annually); Based on 26 Pay Periods; Plus, Mileage Reimbursement

Work Location: 6300 Chimney Rock Rd., Houston, TX 77081
