FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER - WARREN, MI - TRAVEL 50%+
OVERVIEW: We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Controls Engineer to join our team in Macomb, MI. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining complex industrial control systems. This includes working with PLCs, CNC controllers, field bus networks, and drive systems. You will collaborate directly with customers, suppliers, and internal teams while supporting new machine commissioning, preventive maintenance, upgrades, and emergency service needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Diagnose and repair advanced industrial control systems (PLCs, CNC controllers, field bus networks, drive systems).
Read and interpret electrical schematics; use multi-meters to troubleshoot electrical circuits.
Perform machine commissioning, preventive maintenance, controls upgrades, and emergency service at customer sites.
Provide operator and maintenance training for customers.
Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
Act as a primary interface with customers to ensure requirements, goals, and objectives are clearly understood and communicated to senior management.
Complete additional duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
BS in Electrical / Electro-Mechanical Engineering
or
Technical Certificate + 3+ years of industrial automation experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and resourcefulness.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work extended shifts/weekends when needed.
Must meet Export Control compliance requirements (U.S. Person status required).
QUALIFICATIONS:
2-5 years of field service experience.
Experience in aerospace manufacturing & assembly.
Familiarity with Siemens automation & controls systems.
Knowledge of machining, automated assemblies, drill & fill processes.
Ability to read blueprints and apply GD&T principles.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and in a team under fast-paced conditions.
Professional demeanor with excellent customer-facing communication skills.

50% - 60%
Domestic & International
Typical start 6–7 AM
Average hours: 50–60/week
Travel premium on extra travel hours
