Dental Office Assistant role at Heartland Dental. Neibauer Dental Care in Waldorf is recruiting an Experienced Dental Business Assistant to join the team.

Heartland Dental supports a strong team culture with a focus on patient care, learning, and collaboration. This role supports front office operations and helps implement Heartland Dental systems to optimize office potential.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome patients to create a positive first impression
  • Manage front office duties: answer phones, handle mail and email, and communicate with patients and insurance companies
  • Utilize Dentrix for scheduling and records
  • Schedule and confirm appointments for multiple providers
  • File patient insurance claims and follow up on outstanding claims; verify benefits and explain coverage
  • Post insurance and patient payments and manage accounts receivable
  • Review treatment plan fees and payment options with patients
  • Collaborate with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in a dental or medical setting
  • Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle PHI securely; regular HIPAA training required; protect PHI and maintain data safeguards

Preferred Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in a dental or medical setting
  • 1+ years of experience with insurance billing and accounts receivable
  • Experience with Dentrix or other dental software

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Prolonged sitting and computer work
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
  • Attend virtual or in-person training sessions periodically
  • TB test required for new hires in dental offices (not applicable in FL & TN); arranged during pre-employment
