Overview
Gilder Creek Dental Care is seeking a Business Assistant with customer service experience to join our team. The role supports the front office and helps deliver exceptional patient care by aligning with Heartland Dental practices to improve office operations.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome patients to create a positive first impression
- Manage front office duties: answer phones, check office mail and email, communicate with patients and insurance companies
- Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and records
- Schedule and confirm appointments for multiple providers
- File patient insurance claims and follow up on outstanding claims, verify benefits and explain coverage
- Post insurance and patient payments and process accounts receivable
- Review treatment plan fees and payment options with patients
- Partner with providers and the team to implement Heartland Dental systems
Qualifications
- Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Access to minimum PHI required for job-related functions; regular HIPAA training and data safeguards required
Preferred Experience
- 1+ years in a dental or medical setting
- 1+ years of experience with insurance billing and accounts receivable
- Dentrix or other dental software experience
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation
- Prolonged sitting and computer work
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
- Occasional in-person or virtual training sessions
- TB test required for new hires in dental office positions (not applicable in FL & TN)
