Overview
The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets customers, maintains a clean work area, ensures proper merchandise presentation, and performs a range of tasks in all store areas as needed to support customer service and store operations.
Essential Functions
- Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do.
- Maintains a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment; keep egress clear and report unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
- Treats customers and fellow associates with respect and courtesy; friendly and professional at all times.
- Assists customers and is register-trained; greets customers, helps with merchandise, and answers questions in a polite and knowledgeable manner.
- Provides prompt and efficient responses to customers; handles issues courteously and escalates to Store Leadership when needed.
- Represents and supports the Company brand at all times.
- Performs cleaning tasks and replenishes restroom supplies to maintain a clean store and work areas.
- Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the dress code.
- Performs daily sizing and recovery to ensure the store is neat, clean, and merchandised to standards.
- Receives and expedites new merchandise to the sales floor following company guidelines and presentation standards.
- Understands Loss Prevention practices and protection standards.
- Safeguards confidential information, cash, and merchandise; follows all relevant policy requirements.
- Follows MOS (Market-Out-of-Stock) policies and notifies leadership for reviews of disposals.
- Handles cash and transactions accurately and adheres to offline procedures.
- Demonstrates urgency to maximize productivity and efficiency in store processes.

Qualifications and Special Skills
- Effective communication with customers, associates, and store leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements / ADA
- Ability to operate store equipment (PDTs, registers, PC) as required.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of working time.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, stoop; ability to lift/carry more than 25 pounds as needed.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other supplies.
- Stockroom shifts may require lifting more than 20 pounds.
