Overview

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets customers, maintains a clean work area, ensures proper merchandise presentation, and performs a range of tasks in all store areas as needed to support customer service and store operations.

Essential Functions

  • Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do.
  • Maintains a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment; keep egress clear and report unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
  • Treats customers and fellow associates with respect and courtesy; friendly and professional at all times.
  • Assists customers and is register-trained; greets customers, helps with merchandise, and answers questions in a polite and knowledgeable manner.
  • Provides prompt and efficient responses to customers; handles issues courteously and escalates to Store Leadership when needed.
  • Represents and supports the Company brand at all times.
  • Performs cleaning tasks and replenishes restroom supplies to maintain a clean store and work areas.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the dress code.
  • Performs daily sizing and recovery to ensure the store is neat, clean, and merchandised to standards.
  • Receives and expedites new merchandise to the sales floor following company guidelines and presentation standards.
  • Understands Loss Prevention practices and protection standards.
  • Safeguards confidential information, cash, and merchandise; follows all relevant policy requirements.
  • Follows MOS (Market-Out-of-Stock) policies and notifies leadership for reviews of disposals.
  • Handles cash and transactions accurately and adheres to offline procedures.
  • Demonstrates urgency to maximize productivity and efficiency in store processes.

Qualifications and Special Skills

  • Effective communication with customers, associates, and store leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements / ADA

  • Ability to operate store equipment (PDTs, registers, PC) as required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of working time.
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, stoop; ability to lift/carry more than 25 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other supplies.
  • Stockroom shifts may require lifting more than 20 pounds.
