Overview
Role Overview: Responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in residential and commercial settings. Ensures work complies with relevant codes and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Install wiring, outlets, circuit breakers, and lighting fixtures according to blueprints and technical diagrams.
- Set up electrical systems for new construction including panels, switches, and grounding systems.
- Perform excavation and install underground conduit systems, to include man holes, pull boxes, cabling, etc.
- Inspect electrical systems, components, and wiring for hazards, defects, or compliance with codes.
- Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning electrical equipment or systems.
- Replace outdated or faulty electrical components to meet current standards or client requirements.
- Upgrade systems to support new appliances, increased power loads, or energy-efficient technologies.
- Adhere to all electrical codes, regulations, and safety protocols.
- Ensure proper grounding and electrical safety measures are in place.
- Maintain records of inspections, repairs, and installations.
- Prepare reports and update blueprints or technical diagrams as necessary.
Required Skills and Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in electrical installation, maintenance, or repair; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship and valid electrician’s license preferred.
- Prior industrial electrical experience preferred.
- Prior work experience on a military base is a plus.

Working Conditions
- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, often exposed to the natural elements of cold, heat, moisture, and wind.
- Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding.
- Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
