Overview
Job title: Human Resources Generalist at Horizon Group USA
Location: Primarily onsite at our McDonough, GA Distribution Center
Base pay range: $65,000.00/yr - $75,000.00/yr
Summary: The Human Resources Generalist will report to the VP of HR and provide dedicated HR support to the McDonough, GA Distribution Center. This role is an extension of the Corporate HR Team and will work on HR initiatives, projects, and programs related to Distribution Center staff. Responsibilities include onboarding, recruiting, employee relations, payroll, benefits, performance management, and employee engagement.
Requirements and experience: Ideally has experience in a Distribution Center or Manufacturing environment with hourly employees; comfortable with employee relations, disciplinary protocol, timecard management, workers compensation, OSHA, and ADP (HR and payroll system). Experience coordinating or facilitating trainings and identifying skills gaps with training plans is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Manage onboarding of new hires and ensure compliance documentation is correct, completed, and up-to-date.
- Manage bi-weekly time and attendance through ADP Workforce Now, including paid time off requests.
- Assist with benefits enrollment through ADP Workforce Now, including annual Open Enrollment administration.
- Manage Georgia Leave of Absence administration.
- Build relationships with staff at all levels; help new employees integrate into the organization; improve engagement and retention.
- Resolve employee relations issues, conduct investigations, and provide coaching and guidance to management and staff as needed.
- Support temp-to-perm conversion and partner with staffing agencies as needed.
- Lead full-cycle Distribution Center recruiting efforts with hiring managers; develop recruiting strategies, write/post job descriptions, source, prescreen, schedule interviews, maintain Applicant Tracking in ADP, extend offers, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Facilitate and conduct trainings for staff as needed.
- Support health, safety, and well-being initiatives (e.g., fire drills).
- Assist General Manager with employee engagement events and activities to enhance the culture.
- Other projects as determined by VP of HR & General Manager.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of HR experience, ideally in a Distribution Center or Manufacturing environment with hourly employees.
- Solid knowledge of employment law (GA state law preferred).
- Ability to work onsite in McDonough most days (some work-from-home flexibility).
- ADP Workforce Now experience required; payroll processing a plus but not required.
- Ability to conduct investigations and provide recommendations based on findings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Positive, collaborative team player.
