Overview
ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS, REHABILITATION & REENTRY (ADCRR) is committed to creating a safe, secure, and humane correctional system. ADCRR seeks an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Human Resources Analyst. This position supports the Human Resources Liaison with a wide range of personnel-related duties specifically for the ASPC-Douglas.

Responsibilities
- Provides customer service to employees regarding HR-related inquiries, including deposits, taxes, benefits, promotional, and transfer opportunities
- Researches and completes actions in the HR System on a variety of employee personnel actions such as new hires/rehires, promotions, resignations, demotions, transfers, reversions, audit actions, reconciling HR System entries for accuracy
- Conducts new hire and lateral transfer in-processing, reviewing mandated forms and informing new staff of employee benefit options
- Ensures E-Verify is completed timely
- Processes all institution in-coming contractors and non-religious volunteers, including background questionnaires, fingerprints, and submission of completed background packets
- Processes ID requests, creates contractor/volunteer files, tracks ID expiration dates, and updates logs for monthly reporting
- Utilizes a variety of computer programs daily, including HR System, Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and Google Suite
- Produces and researches the HR System Status Term Report, sending regular notices to units about upcoming status/term dates for employee performance evaluations
- Creates input documents and submits to HR Operations Central Office for processing and filing
- Creates Institution HR and Benefits Files for all newly hired staff
- Files all incoming HR, benefits, and related actions and documentation
- Travels/Drives on State business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs)
Knowledge:
AZ360 and Talent Acquisition or comparable web-based programs; Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite; Human Resources practices and procedures in a governmental capacity
Skill in:
Written and verbal communication; Analytical skills; Data entry; Time management; Decision making and crisis management; Customer service
Ability:
Communicate effectively with both internal and external customers; Prioritize daily routine work and special assignments; Learn Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA) personnel rules; ADCRR policies; HR operations procedures; Work in a prison environment; Travel on State business

Pre-Employment Requirements
Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation.
All employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter.
If driving is an essential function, employees must possess a current class-appropriate driver’s license, complete required training, and pass driver’s license record checks. Operators of a personally owned vehicle must maintain statutorily required liability insurance.

Retirement
Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS). Enrollment eligibility becomes effective after 27 weeks of employment. Current ADCRR Employees should consult with their HR Liaison if enrolled in a different retirement plan.
