Summary Objective

The purpose of this position is to research, collect and analyze crime information and generates reports. This class works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences. Examples of Duties ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary. • Develops, implements and maintains computer databases. • Researches and compiles data on programs and nation-wide issues and coordinates and disseminates information with local, state and federal agencies. • Drafts and revises departmental policies for review and approval by command staff. • Prepares internal communications, general orders, general memorandums, personnel memorandums, memorandum announcements and special orders for distribution to staff. • Assists in the preparation of departmental performance measures reports. • Updates and maintains agency website content. • Creates and revises departmental forms. • Discusses computer programs, data summary and report form output requirements with staff and recommends and implements changes to improve efficiency and utilization of computer operations and reports. • Prepares statistical, analytical and programmatic reports, conducts and responds to surveys, produces maps and departmental annual report and completes special projects. • Performs related work as assigned.

Minimum Requirements MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Criminal Justice, Pre-Law or related discipline. • Two (2) years of criminal justice or public safety experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS • Must not have been convicted of a felony or have any criminal action pending against them. • Misdemeanor convictions will be considered on an individual basis. • Must submit to a pre-employment drug screening. • Must submit to a pre-employment polygraph test. • Must submit to fingerprinting for criminal history check. • Applicants who have illegally bought or used marijuana, including medicinal cannabis, within six months of application will be disqualified. • Applicants who have illegally sold marijuana, including medicinal cannabis, within one year of application will be disqualified. • Applicants who have illegally bought, sold, or used any controlled substance or narcotic drug, other than marijuana, without a prescription within six years of application will be disqualified. PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement. • Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.
