Posting Context Statement

This position will move the mission of Extension forward. Primary focus areas include development and management of 4-H volunteers, training and teaching of youth and adults, event management, community partnership building, and high-quality customer service. Major duties include meeting monthly with volunteer councils and groups, providing on-going enrichment and educational opportunities for youth and volunteers, and actively recruiting volunteers and families into the 4-H program. The position will be on-site at the University of Idaho Extension office in Gem County (Emmett, Idaho).

Position Overview

This position is responsible for providing day-to-day operations support to team members throughout the planning, implementation and delivery of programs, and may serve as first point of contact for the unit.

Duties may include: Serving as primary contact with program participants, customer service and office support functions Facilitating communicating between program participants and managerial staff Coordinating arrangements for the program such as meetings, conferences and banquets Collecting, compiling and summarizing program data and managing records Maintaining program calendars and schedules May utilize University programs to create, review and approval financial documents and to provide routine financial reports to the program administrator Other duties as assigned Unit URL

Position Qualifications

Required Experience

Three years performing administrative, office and/or program support functions Required Education

High School Diploma or equivalent Required Other

Ability to occasionally travel Ability to occasionally work nonstandard business hours Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to meet policy requirements for driving university-owned vehicles Additional Preferred

Bachelor's degree Experience:

Teaching, training, or mentoring youth and adults Building partnerships in communities Using computer systems to complete administrative tasks Managing calendars and/or scheduling Interpreting, applying and explaining complex information such as regulations, policies or services Independently solving problems and performing liaison activities in a work setting and coordinating activities requiring complex arrangements Planning, marketing, conducting, and evaluating events Providing high quality customer service

Knowledge of 4-H Youth Development practices, policies, and programs Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

Ability to lift, carry and/or otherwise move items weighing up to 30 pounds
