Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU night shift position requiring Epic experience and advanced cardiac device competency.
Responsibilities Work in a 14-bed Cardiovascular ICU within a large, Level 1 Trauma, teaching hospital Provides care to post-cardiac surgery patients including those with ECMO, OHT, LVAD/RVAD, and Impella devices Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2 Night shifts on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 1845 to 0715 Weekend position with all weekends worked except Sundays Float to adult critical care units as needed No on-call requirements Epic EMR experience is required Uses Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Philips/Edwards monitors Not accepting first-time travelers Orientation includes NEO and 3 days departmental training Strong unit culture focused on teamwork and proactive care Support staff includes a CNA, charge nurse, IV/VAT team, respiratory therapists, and 24/7 intensivist coverage Travelers expected to work 75% of holidays during assignment Scrub color is navy blue Free parking is available
Requirements Active NC or compact RN license Minimum of 2 years recent experience in a comparable level Cardiovascular ICU (CTICU) Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications Epic EMR experience required Experience managing high-acuity cardiac surgery patients with devices such as ECMO, Impella, and IABP Ability to present patient updates once per shift
