Core-CSI is seeking a Sr. VMware VCF Consultant for a 12-month contract. The consultant will work remotely, leading the deployment and oversight of the customer's VCF 9 labs. The consultant will be responsible for working on VCF consultation and implementation, vSphere, monitoring and alert report optimization, certificate rotation, and Microsoft CA integration.
Key Responsibilities: • Plan and deploy VMware solutions, including vSphere environments, virtual machines, virtual desktop infrastructures (VDIs), virtual networking, and virtual storage. • Configure and manage VMware infrastructure components like vCenter, ESXi, datastores, and virtual switches to ensure optimal performance and resource utilization. • Create and manage VM templates, deploy virtual machines from templates, and perform necessary patching and updates. • Identify and resolve issues within the VMware environment, including problems with virtual machines, networking, and storage. • Utilize scripting languages like PowerShell or Python to automate tasks, such as VM deployment, patching, and configuration. • Implement security best practices for virtualized systems and configure clustering for high-availability environments to ensure business continuity. • Integrate VMware solutions with existing physical and virtual infrastructure, including Windows Server and cloud environments. • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for VMware configurations, processes, and infrastructure components. • Perform regular maintenance tasks such as patch management and upgrades. • Design, install, and administer virtual servers, networks, and storage environments. • Maintain and restore VM backups and snapshots. • Establish and enforce levels of access and security. • Upgrade systems with new releases and models. • Develop and document standard operating procedures and protocols.
Required Skills: • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. • Relevant VMware certification, such as VCP (VMware Certified Professional) or VCAP (VMware Certified Advanced Professional). • In-depth knowledge of VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, and related products. • Deep understanding of virtualization, including virtual machines, datastores, virtual networking (like vSwitches), and storage. • Familiarity with Linux and Windows Server as guest operating systems in a virtualized environment. • Proficiency in tools like PowerShell, PowerCLI, or Python for automating tasks. • Strong understanding of networking (VLANs, trunking) and storage (VMFS) within virtualized environments. • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues in a virtualized infrastructure.
Preferred or Nice to Have Skills: • AVI Experience • CyberArk integration experience • Experience with VCF 9x
