We are seeking an experienced and compassionate
Director of Nursing (DON)
to lead our nursing department. This pivotal leadership role will oversee all nursing operations, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, regulatory compliance, and staff development. The DON will champion our patient-centric philosophy, leveraging advanced technology and customized care plans to enhance resident outcomes and foster a collaborative, empathetic work environment. Nursing Operations Leadership : Oversee all nursing operations, ensuring efficient workflows, high-quality patient care, and compliance with state and federal regulations. Staff Leadership & Mentorship : Lead, mentor, and develop a dedicated nursing team, fostering professional growth through training, performance evaluations, and ongoing support. Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance : Ensure adherence to CMS regulations, IDPH guidelines, OSHA requirements, and infection control protocols. Lead quality improvement initiatives and maintain accurate documentation. Patient Care Excellence : Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans that prioritize resident health, recovery, and comfort. Incident & Risk Management : Investigate and resolve patient or staff incidents, implement corrective actions, and lead audits and inspections to uphold compliance and safety standards. Resource & Scheduling Management : Oversee nurse scheduling to ensure optimal staffing levels while balancing workloads and maintaining staff satisfaction. Community & Family Engagement : Serve as a primary point of contact for resident families, addressing concerns and fostering trust to ensure a positive care experience. Represent the facility in community engagement initiatives to strengthen local ties. Technology Integration : Utilize advanced healthcare technologies, including electronic health records (EHR) systems and two-way call light systems, to enhance care delivery and staff responsiveness. Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure : Active Illinois RN license or eligibility to obtain one. Leadership Experience : Minimum of 5-7 years of nursing leadership experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or long-term care setting, with at least 2 years in a Director of Nursing or equivalent role. Clinical Expertise : Extensive knowledge of wound care, IV therapy, medication administration, and chronic disease management. Proficiency with EHR systems is strongly preferred. Regulatory Knowledge : In-depth understanding of CMS regulations, IDPH guidelines, OSHA requirements, and infection control protocols. Leadership & Communication Skills : Exceptional ability to lead teams, resolve conflicts, and communicate effectively with staff, residents, families, and community stakeholders. Problem-Solving & Decision-Making : Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills to navigate complex clinical and operational challenges in a fast-paced environment.
